About Me

Sandra

Thanks for visiting my page! My name is Sandra. I live in Arlington, Texas (just moved here after living in California for a long time). I’ve been married to my awesome husband for 10 years and I have 2 beautiful rescue girls Carrie and Pom Pom. I’m a childfree woman by choice, I always knew I didn’t have that special feeling/desire to be a mom but I love my dogs as if they were my children. Yes, they are 2 very spoiled poodles.

I am from Lima-Peru but moved here because of my husband (I know… love can make you go crazy!). I went to school in Lima and got a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. I enjoy my time in the kitchen that’s why I like to develop recipes. You can find me baking or cooking almost every day.  Also, I love spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy food, hiking, wine tasting, shopping and visiting new places.

Also, I am kind of a “long-distance caregiver” for my parents, both of them have health issues and even though I don’t live with them, I am in charge of important things for their daily lives like supervising their caregivers, food, medicine, etc.

How did I start baking? Well, being newly married and with no cooking experience, I decided to go online and search for recipes, so I found out I enjoyed my time in the kitchen specially when baking. Some years ago, I decided to start my blog, creating recipes, using ingredients from all over the world while I tell you my little tales of my everyday life.

Things you should know about me:

1.- I love dessert, pizza and wine.

2.- I like hiking. I go to Lagoon Valley Park and hike about 5 miles 3-4 times per week.

3.- I am obsessed with my Fitbit.

4.- I’m a dog lover. My dogs are my children.

5.- I miss my family and friends a lot. My mother and father are very close to my heart. My mother has been diagnosed with an early stage of Alzheimer’s and that makes me feel homesick sometimes, but I try to visit every 6 months so I can spend time with her. I’m sure you will find posts about it too.

6.- Hubby and I have a weekly night called “munchies night” …. cheese, crackers, fruit, wine, chocolate…

And … that’s all for now!
