When life is busy and I don’t have time to bake from scratch I look for options that are quick, taste good and made with good quality ingredients.
Scones are one of the things I enjoy eating with a big cup of coffee or tea. Some time ago, I discovered these scone mixes by Sticky Fingers Bakeries and fell in love with them because the taste and texture are always on point! These mixes are perfect for holiday baking season because you can choose from different flavors like cranberry orange, apple cinnamon, apple fritter, maple oat, pumpkin spice, etc. They also have a couple of gluten-free options.
Because it is Fall season I am going to show you how to make Apple Fritter Scone-Nuts. They are crumbly and have small apple chunks, so so good! You will need just some cold water for the scone mix and vanilla glaze (yes, it comes with a glaze mix too!) . Let’s start with the recipe and don’t forget to watch my videos of this post on my Instagram @pastry_tales
Yield about 8-10 regular size scones
Ingredients
For the scones
1 apple fritter scone-nuts mix
1/2 cup cold water
For the vanilla icing
vanilla icing mix (it comes with the scone mix)
1-2 tablespoons cold water
Directions
For the scones
1.- Preheat oven to 375 F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
2.- In a bowl and using a spatula, mix the apple fritter scone-nuts mix with cold water. Combine both ingredients until the water is absorved.
3.- Drop or scoop dough into prepared baking sheet. I like to use a regular size ice cream scoop for this step.
4.- Bake for about 13-15 minutes until golden brown.
5.- Let it cool a couple of minutes on top of a cooling rack.
For the glaze
1.- In a small bowl combine the vanilla icing mixture with 1 tablespoon of cold water. If you think your mixture is too thick, add one more tablespoon of water. Mix well until smooth.
2.- Dip the top of your scones into the glaze. Let the glaze set and enjoy!!
Great I love them
