Craving chocolate? How about this recipe for easy brownies with a twist. I added dulce de leche which is a great complement to the dark cocoa powder I used.

Let’s start with the recipe.
Yield one 8×8 square pan
Ingredients
For the brownies
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup cocoa powder ( I used dark cocoa powder )
1/2 cup unsalted butter
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup white granulated sugar
1 can of dulce de leche
Directions
For the brownie
1.- Preheat oven to 350 F. Line your baking pan (8×8) with parchment paper (bottom and sides). Set aside.
2.- In a medium size saucepan, melt butter. Add sugar and mix for 2 minutes. Then, let the mixture cool for 5 minutes. Add eggs and mix really well so we prevent our eggs from cooking. Add vanilla. Mix.
3.- Add cocoa powder, mix. Add flour, baking powder and salt. Mix until you don’t see any leftover flour.
4.- Pour half of the brownie batter into your prepared baking pan. Then, add spoons of dulce de leche on top and make swirls. I used a knife to make the swirls. Add the other half of the brownie batter and spread it carefully covering all the dulce the de leche. Finally, add more spoons of dulce de leche on top and make swirls again.
4.- Bake for about 30-35 minutes.
5.- Cool and cut into squares. I got 16 small squares.
